Mission of The Blog

Welcome to A Treasure To Be Shared, the occasional blog of a Roman Catholic layman, an Instituted Acolyte installed in the ministry of acolyte by His Excellency Steven J. Lopes, Bishop Ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter.
  1. Truth, goodness, beauty, and holiness. This blog celebrates the Anglican Patrimony in communion with the Catholic Church.
  2. The mission is the Mass; the Mass is the mission. For Catholics, the "source and summit of the Christian life is the Holy Eucharist" (Lumen Gentium 11; Catechism of the Catholic Church 1324 - 1327). This blog serves to draw people's attention to that sublime treasure, the Ordinariate Mass, Divine Worship, the Traditional English Mass (TEM). Divine Worship, the liturgical form approved by the Holy See for use in the Ordinariate, gives expression to and preserves for Catholic worship the worthy Anglican liturgical patrimony, understood as that which has nourished the Catholic faith throughout the history of the Anglican tradition and prompted aspirations towards ecclesial unity.Complementary Norms for the Apostolic Constitution Anglicanorum Coetibusthe Celebration of Divine Worship Article 15 §1.
  3. The salvation of souls. (As members) of the Ordinariate, we participate locally in the larger mission of the Universal Church in the salvation of souls. Our unique contribution to this goal is through our Anglican patrimony, the liturgical, musical, intellectual, and cultural expression of the Catholic faith expressed through the English Catholic tradition. We are particularly missionary-minded and exist to unite non-Catholics with Holy Mother Church, and to help Catholics continue together with us in our own continual conversions. - Saint John Henry Newman Catholic Church, Irvine, California.
